This site is dedicated to Majuli.....The world's largest inhabited river island has been reduced to almost half now to what it was in 1950 due to severe flood and erosion year after year.This famed island would cease to exist in the not too distant future unless urgent remedial steps are taken.The "Majuli's cry for survival" is describing the truth .................
Dhrubajitt Saikia was born in the river island Majuli in the district of Jorhat,Assam, India and completed his High School level of education from Meragarh High School, Majuli. He went to Jorhat to undergo his Pre University Course in Science from J B College and completed the Civil Engineering Course from H.R.H The POW Institute of Engineering and Technology, Jorhat.
